President Xi’s “40-years-of-reform” speech fails to excite
President Xi’s spoke at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Wednesday on what he described as 40 years of reform and opening-up. Unfortunately the speech did not address big international issues such as tariffs, trade wars and relations with other economic partners.
Several experts said the speech was self-congratulatory and was directed toward a domestic audience and inner-party. It is anticipated that more speeches will happen in the future.
