Here’s what you need to know!

Canadian Pacific Railway Strike:
More than 3000 teamster members at the Canadian Pacific Railway have walked off the job yesterday after talks failed to reach an agreement before the February 14th midnight deadline. Picket lines have been setup across Canada and the rail shut down is currently in full force.

The Canadian government is currently reviewing all options to end the work-stoppage due to the severe effect these strikes could have on the Canadian economy. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated.

West Coast Labor Update:
President Obama has requested of Labor Secretary Tom Perez to get involved in the contract negotiations.  As they are now headed into the 10th month of negotiations and work stoppages have ensued, the President has requested Perez’s involvement out of concern of the country’s economic consequences of further delay.

We will continue to keep you informed as both of these situations progress. If you have any questions or concerns, please call us at 800.493.9444
