USTR Releases Fifth Round of Section 301 List 1 Product Exclusions
On June 4, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) released another list of HTS subheadings that are either partially or completely excluded from Section 301 List 1 tariffs. This is the fifth round of List 1 exclusions granted, with the fourth round released as recently as May 14, 2019.
This most recent notice includes one HTS subheading completely excluded from the tariff increase, and 88 subheadings partially excluded — including:

This recent round of exclusions will retroactively apply to all products meeting the criteria effective June 6, 2018 — the date the U.S. first imposed a 25% tariff increase on $34 billion of Chinese products. Additionally, importers with eligible products are still able to claim exemption under the new exclusions up to one year from the date the official notice is posted in the Federal Register.
