US Ends Tariff on Non-Alloyed, Unwrought Aluminum from Canada

Categories: , ,

The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced that the Section 232 duties on imported non-alloyed, unwrought aluminum from Canada will be rescinded. The U.S. will resume duty-free treatment retroactive to September 1, 2020.

This tariff initially went into effect on August 16, 2020. USTR indicated that, if aluminum imports exceed predetermined monthly import volumes, they will reimpose the 10 percent tariff retroactively on all shipments made in that time period.
