Tariff increases on List 4A and 4B to be announced by USTR
Earlier this week, President Trump announced a tariff increase on Section 301 List 4A and 4B products from 10 to 15 percent. This tariff increase, along with ordering American companies to cease manufacturing in China, was in response to China’s retaliatory tariffs imposed on $75 billion of U.S. goods.
On August 30th, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) is scheduled to publish an official notice announcing the increase. Importers should expect the imposition of a 15 percent tariff on List 4A products, effective September 1, 2019, and List 4B products, effective December 15, 2019, respectively.
You can find the unofficial notice from the Federal Register here.
