Steel and Aluminum Product Lists Subject to Additional Tariffs Released
Late last week, President Trump announced the imposition of an additional 25% tariff on certain steel products and an additional 10% tariff on certain aluminum products. This decision comes as a response to the poor results of the original section 232 tariffs imposed in 2018.
The U.S. Department of Commerce released the official lists of products subject to additional tariffs. They are as follows:
- Annex I: Derivatives of Aluminum Articles contains 6 HTS subheadings subject to additional 10% tariffs.
- Annex II: Derivatives of Steel Articles contains 4 HTS subheadings subject to additional 25% tariffs.
All tariffs are set to go into effect on February 8, 2020.
