New tool for submitting CBP Electronic Vessel Manifest Confidentiality requests

Categories: ,

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the deployment of a new tool for submitting Electronic Vessel Manifest Confidentiality requests. The rollout will happen throughout the coming months and will enable companies and individuals to manage their own confidentiality requests electronically via an online process.

Currently, importers, exporters, and consignees may request their name and address to remain confidential on vessel manifests through a manual email process. The current process typically takes 60-90 days to complete, while the new online tool, located on CBP.gov, will reduce the processing time for confidentiality requests to as little as 24 hours. Additionally, the new tool will allow companies and individuals to input all applicable name variations directly into it.

Technical questions related to the new Electronic Vessel Manifest Confidentiality request tool should be directed to vesselmanifestconfidentiality@cbp.dhs.gov.
