Longshore workers set to strike at two Port of Montreal marine terminals

Categories: , , ,

The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), the union representing longshoremen working at the Port of Montreal, have provided a 72-hour strike notice starting Thursday, July 2, at 3:00 p.m. until Saturday, July 4 at 7:00 p.m. The strike targets two specific terminals both operated by Montreal Gateway Terminals (MGT) Partnership.

The strike is in response to on-going negotiations regarding the renewal of the longshoremen’s collective agreement with the Port. It is important to note that all the other terminals at the Port of Montreal will remain in operation.

Trans-Border will continue to monitor this developing situation and provide updates as needed. If you have any questions, please reach out to at info@tbgfs.com or (800) 493-9444.
