Lockdowns across India due to Surging COVID-19

Several states across India have announced and implemented new lockdown procedures in response to rising cases of COVID-19 across the subcontinent. The hardest hit areas are Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Delhi states, and each have announced their own specific protocols.

Maharashtra State was the first to go into a 10-day lockdown on April 14 and will likely extend that lockdown in the coming days. Delhi Government announced a six-day lockdown from April 19 thru April 26. Tamil Nadu expanded the restrictions they already had in place, including night curfews and Sunday lockdowns starting April 20.

Essential services, including transportation, will continue in Maharashtra and Delhi, albeit likely slowed. In the case of Tamil Nadu, inter-state and intra-state movement of vehicles will not be allowed.
