EPA Releases HTS Codes Identified for the Formaldehyde/Composite Woods Certification Requirements
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released the following Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes as general guidance for the various types of imported articles that may require Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Section 13 import certification, as required by the Formaldehyde Standards for Composite Wood Products final rule, published December 12, 2016.
EPA has indicated that this list should not be considered conclusive of articles that do or do not require TSCA Section 13 import certification. Any entity importing an article is responsible for determining if the imported article is or contains regulated composite wood products and, if yes, is responsible for completing the TSCA Section 13 import certification process.
