CN and Teamsters reach tentative agreement, rail operations to begin again

Categories: , , ,

On Wednesday, Canadian National Railway (CN) and the Teamsters Canadian Rail Conference (TCRC) reached a tentative agreement ending the strike that approximately 3,200 rail workers have been taking part in since last week.

Normal rail operations are set to resume at 6 a.m. tomorrow, November 27, according to statements from both parties.

Details of the agreement have not been disclosed. The workers, consisting mostly of train conductors and railyard coordinators, went on strike on Nov. 19 claiming long hours, fatigue, and dangerous working conditions while employed by the railway. Freight disruptions were reported across the supply chain as a result.
