CBP Released Updated USMCA Interim Implementing Instructions
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released updated interim implementation instructions regarding the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). The agreement is set to replace NAFTA on July 1, 2020, and these instructions replaced the previous interim implementation instructions issued on April 20, 2020.
These implementation instructions provide an outline for ensuring compliance when USMCA goes into effect, particularly with respect to preferential tariff claims.
