FOMO – Not a New Incoterm!

Have you ever noticed that when you arrive to a restaurant, bar, store, mall or wherever, everyone has their head down and is looking at their phones? Yet, they are surrounded by people, many of them are family and friends.  Wow – isn’t it weird? You see a group of teenagers standing right next to each other heads down and texting. You see people eating together at a restaurant not talking, but looking at their phone. You see this crazy scene everywhere you go! People are constantly looking at their phones and unable to communicate with each other.

n-SOCIAL-MEDIA-ON-CELL-PHONE-large570FOMO – drum roll please…Fear Of Missing Out…yes, this is a real term as my 4 teenagers have confirmed to me, as well as my 12 year old.  It seems that instead of living in the moment and enjoying what we are doing, as a society, we are consumed with making sure we are not missing anything. Yet, we are missing everything which is life! So in this time of resolutions, maybe the best one is realizing not to go chasing what is next, but enjoying what is now – the present.

At Trans-Border we are in the present every second, every minute, every hour, every day, every month, every year, etc… We understand that you count on us as an extension of your customer service to your customers. On outbound shipments, the freight arrives on time and safe to make your customer happy. On in-bound shipments, we deliver timely so you can manufacture or distribute to your customers. We understand our role and value your faith in us as your logistics partner.

We have invested heavily in technology to provide data, reporting and tracking, but our most important investment is – our people!  We have unbelievable people here who are listening to you and talking to you about ways to make your day easier and your business more profitable.  As the philosopher Epictetus said— “We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.” (my wife gave me this quote – I was listening).

Thanks to all for a great 2015 and looking forward to an unbelievable 2016. At Trans-Border we gladly suffer from HOHO – Happiness Of Helping Out…. We are a service company with a commitment to deliver the finest service in the logistics industry. Thanks again!
