Truckers In India To Go On Nationwide Strike
Truck drivers across India will go on a nationwide strike commencing July 20th in protest against a number of issues including, but not limited to a steady increase in diesel prices, uncontrollable toll expenses and GST compliance issues.
The All India Motor Transport Congress, the umbrella organization of transporters, has given the strike call and all State and district level associations have agreed to join in.
The strike will be held indefinitely, which will only further hasten and strangle the movement and flow of goods within India.
Trans–Border will continue to monitor this upheaval and will relay any and all updates as they filter through. If you have any concerns or questions regarding your shipments that maybe impacted by this strike, please contact Jon Mongin and Sumar Bhatti via email or by calling 800-493-9444.
