Welcome to Trans-Border, Joseph Zedalis!
Please extend a warm welcome to the newest member of Trans-Border’s import operations department – Joseph Zedalis! Joe comes to Trans-Border with experience across the supply chain industry, as well as food services and education.
Joe’s supply chain story begins immediately following high school when he secured a role in warehouse administration. Joe rapidly excelled in that role but, soon after, realized he was not totally satisfied. Around this time, an opportunity arose and Joe soon found himself serving as the Food Services Director of The Bennington School, a school for at-risk girls. Overseeing two kitchens and their staffs, Joe and his team produced nearly 2,100 meals a week for the school’s students. He even revamped the school’s menu in order to qualify for federal school lunch program grants.
Joe looks back fondly on his time in food services, but later decided supply chain was really his bread-and-butter. He most recently served in the logistics department of a Vermont-based retail supply company.
“I’m looking for a workplace to call home,” Joe starts, going on to describe the ease he has felt coming into Trans-Border’s extremely welcoming environment. “Do you know in the show Cheers when Norm walks in and everyone says, ‘Hey Norm!’,” Joe asks. “That’s what it feels like coming in here.”
Joe counts his wife and two children as his everyday inspirations, and some of his favorite activities include fishing and hiking with them. Joe also loves live music and admits to being a “closet” Deadhead. “I even saw Jerry Garcia several times!” His favorite artists to see in concert are Phish and Umphrey’s McGee.
We are very excited to welcome Joe to Trans-Border! Stop by his desk to say hello or shoot him a message at firstname.lastname@example.org.
