Yesterday, today, tomorrow…

I don’t know about you… but I am always reminiscing about the past. The general consensus is that reminiscing should be a good thing – maybe to recall where one started, or how one has grown over time. Even for those that like to put an emphasis on the finer things in life, it’s always nice to think about how you went from a rickshaw to an all-in-your-face Bentley. Ahh the good times.
In fact, I found myself reminiscing at 3:43 am this morning as I struggled to close my eyes and gain any real traction with some sort of sleep normality. So, what does one do when they cannot doze off? They reminisce about work, and life, and how things have progressed over the years (or the lack off, but we won’t go there!). It is a very appropriate thought process to have approximately 3 hours before the sun rises – it provided me with some good old-fashioned perspective.
It has been 15 years since I started with Trans-Border and, according to my calculation, 15 years ago in June would have made it 2004. Trans-Border was only seven years old at the time, and I was 26… those numbers make the hair on the back of my neck tingle.
I can clearly recall those early days – the days of the paper files, typing on an airway bill, and making calculations with pen and paper. I remember where everyone sat and how narrow the hallways were. But, most important of all, I remember an air of hustle and bustle about that building that pulled people together and created a unique atmosphere. Ultimately, this sense of excitement and urgency created the steppingstones for us to be where we are today. The company’s vision and hunger for growth were and are, in my opinion, priceless.
Today, Trans-Border has multiplied in every possible direction – from the breadth of cargo we move, to our advanced logistics platform, all the way to our expanding global reach. We continue to break boundaries and continue to evolve – and for that, we should be grateful for 1997.
One should never forget where they started or where they came from. Everyone at Trans-Border – past and present – has contributed immensely over the years. That, my friends, is truly beautiful.
Here is to the future and to more reminiscing.
