Employee of the Quarter – Josh Wallbank
Each quarter, Trans-Border recognizes an employee for outstanding work. The winner receives a $500 monetary bonus and the coveted parking spot right outside the front door of our headquarters. The Employee of the Quarter award goes to Joshua Wallbank! Josh was recognized for his positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to help his colleagues.
Josh, a local native of Berlin, NY, has served in Trans-Border’s import operations department for nearly two years. Prior to joining the supply chain industry, Josh worked in horticulture at a wholesale florist’s distributor. Putting his cutting shears aside, Josh now excels in his operational role at Trans-Border.
Josh was chosen as Employee of the Quarter because he consistently goes above and beyond his responsibilities and is always willing to assist his colleagues. “I am always listening, actually,” Josh explains, “in case someone nearby needs assistance.” Josh was also chosen for his positive attitude. “The friendships I’ve made here are most important to me,” Josh says, going on to describe the comradery and community he’s been exposed to at Trans-Border.
Josh’s business acumen extends well beyond Trans-Border’s doors. Josh and his now-wife, Jamie, began making candles together in 2004. Now, nearly 16 years later, Collar City Candle boasts over 200 scents with more on the horizon. Josh and Jamie have even secured partnerships with local cider maker Nine Pin Cider and soap manufacturer Rad Soap to create all of their brand candles. You can check out more coverage of Josh, Jamie, and their business in the Saratogian and Albany Business Review.
Although Josh readily admits he dreams of the day he will become a full-time candle maker, he has grown into an invaluable member of the Trans-Border team. You can catch Josh spending his weekends making candles and smoking meat – his other beloved hobby.
Congratulations to Josh for this recognition and thank you for your outstanding dedication!
