Dwell Time Delays in Canada

 In Industry Insider, Industry News

The Canadian seaports of Vancouver, Prince Rupert, and Halifax are experiencing delays resulting from increased dwell time (waiting time for loading onto rail).  On the West Coast, Vancouver dwell times are ten to fifteen days, and Prince Rupert dwell times are five to ten days.  On the East Coast, dwell times in Halifax are around seven days.

At Deltaport, which is Vancouver’s largest container terminal, delays are likely to increase in the coming weeks.  As terminals become backlogged there is a good chance that vessels will be delayed as well.
