Drones ground flights at Gatwick Airport in the UK
Gatwick airport in the UK has been shutdown since Wednesday night after two drones were seen flying over the perimeter fence. At least 110,000 passengers on 760 flights were due to fly on Thursday. Incoming planes were diverted to other airports including London Heathrow, Luton, Birmingham, Manchester, Cardiff, Paris and Amsterdam.
Sussex Police said it was not terror related but a “deliberate act” of disruption. Police did not want to shoot down the drones because of the risk of stray bullets.
