We are seeking an Import/Export Operations Specialist to coordinate cargo, interface directly with clients, and provide superior customer service. This position is based in our headquarters in Round Lake, NY.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate cargo movement based on client requirements in the most professional, cost effective, efficient, profitable, and timely manner
  • Work directly with clients aiming to provide effective transportation solutions, coupled with the highest level of customer service in the industry
  • Communicate with transportation vendors – from initial bookings to contract rate negotiations – to maximize department profitability
  • Review customer documentation to ensure efficient and hassle-free transportation of goods
  • Prepare shipping documents
  • Continuously educate clients about export regulations, country specific requirements, and industry updates

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be very detail oriented, organized, and able to work in a team environment
  • Must be able to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and calmly handle high-pressure situations

We are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Account Executive to generate, build and maintain business relationships with current and prospective clients. This position will be based out of our headquarters in Round Lake, NY, with approximately 60% of time dedicated to travel.

The Account Executive will be responsible for representing Trans-Border and developing a client base in their territory with minimal corporate oversight. Our ideal candidate will have proven success in freight forwarding sales, including an existing book of business. Compensation is negotiable based upon candidate’s experience and could include a signing bonus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sell Trans-Border’s suite of logistics and transportation services to manufacturing or distribution companies in specified territory (NY Capital Region and Vermont). Services include import, export, and domestic logistics solutions, including international air and ocean freight services.
  • Maintain and grow existing book of business
  • Prospect new leads using a variety of methods, including email, phone, and face-to-face visits, and convert them into customers
  • Service and maintain existing clients
  • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets
  • Update CRM system with sales activity on a weekly basis

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years’ experience in sales for freight forwarding or logistics (including international freight services)
  • Proven track record and existing book of business
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • Must be a self-starter as this position will receive minimal supervision
  • Computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Conduct sales visits throughout assigned territory
  • Must make 6 to 8 appointments per day (18 to 24 visits per week)

Inside/Office Schedule:

Monday

  • Schedule outside sales visits
  • Follow up with operations and clients about outstanding and to-be-completed tasks
  • Complete Sales Itinerary for present week of sales visits

Friday

  • Review that week’s sales visits
  • Finalize outside sales schedule for following week
  • Update new contacts and other information into CRM database
  • Follow up with operations and clients about outstanding and to-be-completed tasks

Independent Sales Agent

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with strong entrepreneurial spirit to become an Independent Sales Agent.  In this role, you will have the opportunity to sell a full range of domestic and international transportations services to prospective and existing customers.  All the administration will be handled by Trans-Border’s corporate office which will allow you to concentrate your efforts on generating new business opportunities and income!  You will be responsible for cultivating new business opportunities and closing sales with customers.

You will have access to our expanding network of over 195 international agents in over 187 countries to provide complete global coverage, and over 275 domestic agents to provide local pick-up and delivery, dedicated truckload service and nationwide LTL coverage.  Plus, Trans-Border will provide you with all the tools you will need to help guarantee success including:
