  • Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate cargo movement based on client requirements in the most professional, cost effective, efficient, profitable, and timely manner
    • Work directly with clients aiming to provide effective transportation solutions, coupled with the highest level of customer service in the industry
    • Communicate with air transportation vendors – from initial bookings through to negotiating contract rates in order to maximize department profitability
    • Review customer documentation in order to ensure efficient and hassle-free transportation of goods

We are seeking an Outside Sales Account Executive to expand our reach into and develop the market in the Northeast. This position can be based anywhere within the territory and will have responsibilities both within and without the office.

Locations/Territory: CT, RI, MA, NH & ME

Will be in the field, on the road 3 days a week and in virtual home office 2 days a week;

Can be based anywhere within the territory

Job Responsibilities:

  • Selling Logistics and Transportation services to manufacturing or distribution companies in NE
  • Services offered include import, export, and domestic logistics solutions, including international air and ocean freight services.
  • Responsible for new business development by setting up onsite visits (via phone call or email communication) with prospects and converting them into customers
  • Will be held accountable for reporting weekly activity levels and sales
  • Meet monthly and quarterly targets
  • Selling Logistics and Transport services to manufacturing and distribution companies
  • Arranging visits with existing and new clients
  • Generate new business accounts
  • Maintain and grow a personal list

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Outside Sales and/or Freight Forwarding
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • Must be a self-starter as this is a home-based sales opportunity
  • Computer Skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

Outside Sales Schedule:

  • Sales visits take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week.
  • Required Sales Visits = 6 to 8 appointments per day (18 to 24 visits per week)

Inside/Office Schedule:

Monday

  • Scheduling outside sales visits
  • Internal and external follow up to be completed with Operations, clients and Director of Sales
  • Complete Sales Itinerary for present week of sales visits for review with Director of Sales

Friday

  • Review of present week/sales visits
  • Finalize outside sales schedule for following week
  • Admin – Updating new contact info/CRM
  • Follow up – internal & external with customers, Operations & Director of Sales

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with strong entrepreneurial spirit to become an Independent Sales Agent.  In this role, you will have the opportunity to sell a full range of domestic and international transportations services to prospective and existing customers.  All the administration will be handled by Trans-Border’s corporate office which will allow you to concentrate your efforts on generating new business opportunities and income!  You will be responsible for cultivating new business opportunities and closing sales with customers.
