Allison Burak: Director of Business Development & Process Management

 In Company News, New Hires

Each and every day, Trans-Border is abuzz with activity. From the operations floor to the sales department and everything in between, there is a lot going on. Sometimes, there’s so much going on, it’s a wonder we don’t slip into madness. Thankfully, navigating our course through all that chaos is one of Trans-Border’s best and brightest – Allison Burak.

Allison started her journey with Trans-Border shortly after graduating from Le Moyne College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in business and communications. Now, fifteen years later, Allison has served in or lead nearly every department within Trans-Border.

A few years ago, amidst a rapid expansion, Trans-Border’s leadership recognized the immense talent within our organization and an increased need for additional governance. In response, the first ever class of directors was chosen with Allison among them. She now serves as Trans-Border’s Director of Business Development & Process Management.

This role requires Allison to apply her project management skills across a wide range of tasks, from freight management, to marketing, to technology improvement. Recently, Allison’s biggest project has been the implementation and maintenance of our new cargo management software – CargoWise One.

“I don’t want to sound cliché but making customers happy is truly the reason I come to work every day,” Allison begins. “I get immense satisfaction from doing a good job for our clients.” In addition to providing quality service to our customers, it is also safe to say that Allison is quite the freight nerd. “I LOVE project cargo. It’s so fun… the more difficult to move, the better!”

On top of all of Allison’s responsibilities, she also finds time to champion Trans-Border’s sustainability initiatives. In her time here, Allison has removed nearly all paper printing from our business. Next up for her is working to end the use of single-use plastic.

Allison is a local native of Clifton Park and currently resides in Schuylerville with her fiancée Dustin and puppy Zeke. You can catch Allison spending her weekends hiking as she tries to conquer all 46 of the Adirondack High Peaks. She even once hiked the entire Northville-Placid Trail – 144 miles through the Adirondack mountains in nine days!

Trans-Border would not be the company it is today without the contributions of Allison Burak. We are so thankful to Allison for her continued commitment to excellence and look forward to all she accomplishes in the future.
